Argentine’s top bookstore
Today belongs to e-time: emails instead of letters and Internet searching instead of reading. More people are searching on internet and less people are reading books. Lots of middle or small bookstores which I was familiar with, disappeared. Some of them are now bars or restaurants, some of them become tea houses. Some of them can not be recognized again at all. The quality of printing is getting better and better and the prices of books are getting dearer and dearer. Buyers are becoming less and items of books are not various enough.
It is not unique, but has its counterpart. There is an article saying that Buenos Aires – the capital of Argentine has a world top bookstore. It has a superb collection of books. Not only has it books for children, but also scientific, literature, art, religious, medical etc., it also has CDs or DVDs and phonographs and children’s toys. In one word to say is that all, regardless ages and genders, come here full with joy and go happily. There is a continuous flow of visitors come here which becomes a local great sightseeing.
It is said that the bookstore is remade of an old and discarded theatre. The quaint style makes the bookstore become the world top and unique “sacred reading place”. Not only can people buy their books, but they can also enjoy reading books sitting in the old theatre box.
